Doxim ECM 6.1 Product Release Announcement
Over the last few months we’ve been working hard putting the finishing touches to a significant new release of Doxim ECM. Significant because some of the great new capabilities we are bringing out (like Event Tracking) have required substantial changes to the way Doxim ECM operates ‘under the hood’.
Version 6.1 of Doxim ECM is now very close to general release and we plan to start upgrading our Doxim Service Bureau customers from October onwards. To ensure smooth adoption by all our clients, we will be delivering Doxim Administrator training sessions from late September onwards. We will send you more details in due course, so that the appropriate people in your organization can sign-up.
This new release includes a number of exciting features and capabilities that we believe will be of value to all our clients:
Event Tracking
Using a new audit trail capability, Doxim ECM 6.1 is now fully compliant with The Canadian General Standards Board: Electronic Records as Documentary Evidence (CAN-72.34.2005).
This new audit trail capability includes advanced logging of all ‘before’ and ‘after’ values for all modified data at both administrative and document levels.
Benefits
It is now possible to have a complete audit trail for a particular document, showing who has viewed it and when and who has modified it and when.
Leveraging this new event tracking capability, we will shortly be able to provide CPA specific monthly reporting services to clients on a scheduled basis. Enhanced reporting will be a billable service, comprising one-time charges for set-up plus a modest monthly recurring service fee.
Action Based Permissions and Security
Company level administrators now have greatly increased flexibility to define user permissions and the “actions” users may carry out on documents within the archive.
Separate and distinct document permissions can be configured for individual groups and users in line with a particular company’s specific needs and security requirements.
The screenshot below shows how different permissions can be set for different user types at the document level.

Benefits
Greatly enhanced flexibility and security in the way administrators can configure permissions within a particular view.
Enhanced Image Viewing (Tiff to PDF)
Tiff image viewing by Financial Instutition personnel has been significantly enhanced in Doxim ECM 6.1. Cheque or other images opened in the ECM system can now be viewed using Adobe Acrobat, permitting access to advanced image viewing capabilities (e.g. zooming in on a cheque image).
Benefits
Users are no longer required to deploy third party applications or browser add-ons for advanced image viewing.
Maximizing Workspace
A number of document and list level options may now be toggled off by administrators. This maximizes the document viewing space in the Doxim ECM User Interface.
Benefits
Document features that users don’t need to see can be removed from the User Interface giving users more space in the browser to view and work with documents.
Feedback / Support Button
A new Feedback Button will be added in the top menu bar of the ECM User Interface. This can be used by Doxim ECM users to provide product feedback, such as enhancement suggestions (via an email link or link to an external URL).
This user feedback button can be configured at a company level, meaning that the specified email address or external web URLs can be configured for each client, in the case that specific clients prefer feedback from their users to be routed via their Doxim ECM Administrator rather than it being sent directly to Doxim.
Benefits
Users can now submit feedback and suggestions for products changes/enhancements direct from within the Doxim ECM workspace.
Enhanced Searching
Several new features/capabilities have been added to the searching functions within Doxim ECM 6.1.
Advanced Searching
The field list for Advanced Searches can now be customized. This allows Administrations to specify the fields that are displayed when a user executes an advanced search.

Simple Searching
A drop down field has been added to the search area in the top right hand corner of the Doxim ECM User Interface (1), allowing Simple Searches to be performed on specific fields within the system rather than on all fields at once.

Search Results
An additional drop down field has been added to the bottom right hand side of the search result window allowing the user to see the total number of pages returned (2). In addition, if the search is considered too generic (i.e. has more than 500 documents returned) a message will be displayed, prompting the user to refine their search (3).
Benefits
These changes make searching much more flexible and efficient, resulting in increased user productivity.
eInsert Support
Doxim ECM 6.1 now provides support for eInserts.
“eInserts” are inserts that are appended to the end of an electronic statement so they can be viewed online by a member when the PDF of the eStatement is opened.
Once eInserts and created and configured, the Doxim eInsert functionality dynamically appends eInsert content to a statement at the point it is opened by a member.
eInserts can be used to append copies of existing mailed inserts or even customer newsletters to eStatements.
eInserts will be a billable service, comprising one-time charges for set-up plus a modest monthly recurring service fee.
Benefits
Allows promotional inserts to be appended to online statements so that they can be seen and acted upon by members that have opted out of printed statements.
Administrator / User Separation
Changes in the administration architecture in Doxim ECM 6.1 allow Service Bureau clients that deploy Doxim ECM ‘on-premise’ to choose whether to deploy the User functions and Administrator functions together, or whether they segregate out the Administration functions as a separate entity.
Benefits
Deploying the Administrator portion of Doxim ECM as a separate entity allows tighter security controls to be set up to better restrict who is allowed to access Administrator functions.
