Doxim eDocument Survey Results

What is Doxim eDocuments?

Doxim eDocuments allows financial institutions to deliver items such as Tax forms, mortgage receipts, transaction receipts, loan documentation and marketing material to their customers via their online banking portal.

Providing electronic documents supports channel transparency by enabling customers to interact with their financial institution through their preferred channel. It also provides customers with convenient remote access to their financial documents.

Doxim eDocuments is currently being brought to market with our charter partner, MemberDirect, who provides banking portal services for hundreds of Canadian Credit Unions.

eDocuments Survey

As part of the launch planning for Doxim eDocuments, we recently completed a survey to our customer base to better understand how our clients envision using the new Doxim eDocument service. We had a great a great response and thought you would be interested to know what the survey results uncovered.

The survey consisted of four simple questions:

  1. Do you plan on using Doxim eDocuments through your online banking?
  2. If yes, which document type you would you want to expose first? (Select one)
  3. What other documents would you most like to expose? (select up to two more)
  4. When would you like to start using Doxim eDocuments?

Survey Results


Interestingly, the results of the survey identified very high alignment across our client base regarding the sort of things people plan to use Doxim eDocuments for over the coming year.
Approximately 90% of respondents indicate that they do plan to use the eDocument service, which is probably not surprising given the value add that it represents for customers.

In terms of an organization’s document focus, the amalgamated responses to questions 2 and 3 are shown in the graph below. While a number of the document choices identified were as expected, we were surprised to see marketing materials trumping items like customer notices and tax documents.

Deployment Plans

In terms of deployment plans, the majority of organizations indicated that they have not yet defined exact adoption plans.

  • Within the next 6 months – 20% of respondents
  • Sometime later this year – 21.5% of respondents
  • No specific plans as yet – 58.5% of respondents

Getting More Detail

We’ve decided that it would be useful to get some more details regarding the top documents types identified, to better understand, for example, what sort of marketing materials, and which customer notices, specifically. To this end we intend to complete some in-depth one on one calls with clients over the coming weeks
