DOXIM staff shared tips, tricks and customer best practices on such subjects as E-Statements, cheque imaging and decisioning, board package management, and hardcopy scanning and Loan Origination System integration.

This year’s meeting also included a number of illuminating presentations from industry experts on a variety of topics. Tim McAlpine of Currency Marketing, the leading marketing consultancy focused on credit unions, delivered an entertaining talk on how credit unions can use Web 2.0 technologies and strategies to reach new members in the youth market. Tim kept the crowd entertained with videos from the campaign from Commonwealth Credit Union in Alberta.

Bill Broddy from Imerge Consulting shared the findings from the Great Statement Project, a study that explored what goes into creating the perfect monthly statement. Bill explored factors such as readability, information placement, and marketing messages, and he showed examples of some of the best statements now being produced.

Coro Strandberg from Strandberg Consulting delivered an eye-opening talk on corporate social responsibility and environmental leadership. Coro spoke of her work with a variety of credit unions and other organizations to align policy with the goals and aspirations of the communities served.

Finally, Baskaran Rajamani from Deloitte and Touche spoke about the governance challenges associated with outsourcing. Baskaran explained how evolving regulatory and governance demands can be met to allow both outsourcing companies and their customers to reap the benefits of these relationships.

DOXIM partners also delivered short presentations outlining their current activities and future efforts. Attendees heard from Strategic Information Technology Ltd. (SIT), CUPS Credit Union Payment Services, Cannex Financial Exchanges Ltd., Technicost, and CGI.

DOXIM Exchange was an opportunity for DOXIM to recognize customers and partners with awards for innovation and achievement. Innovator of the Year awards went to CUPS and Teachers’ Credit Union of Hamilton, Ontario. The Green Giant award for achievement in reducing paper was awarded to Windsor Family Credit Union for its efforts to encourage the switch from paper statements to E-Statements. Two citations for Excellence in Customer Feedback were awarded to Mennonite Savings and Credit Union and to Sydenham Community Credit Union. And League Data was named Partner of the Year to acknowledge the strong working relationship between DOXIM and League.

Reaction from attendees was overwhelmingly positive. Among the remarks included on feedback forms were “Excellent job folks on your first UGM!”, “Great work overall”, and “The company has an excellent view of the future”.

“We’re very happy with the turn-out and response to DOXIM Exchange,” said Chris Rasmussen, President and CEO of DOXIM. “There is so much going on with DOXIM, with our industry and with our customers that it’s not always easy to keep everyone informed. This User Group Meeting offered us a chance to bring our customers up to speed with what is happening with us, and more importantly, allow our customers to share what is new and important with them. We plan to organize more of these meetings throughout the year and take them on the road to the various regions we serve, and of course we’re already busy working on DOXIM Exchange 2009.”
